BC TIKETA signed an agreement with legionnaire from Spain
Like most teams, one of the most prominent places in the team is in the position of a playmaker. But after a long search, BC Tiketa signed an agreement with Legionnaire from Spain Maria Fonseca Martinez. This 26 year old playmaker last year played in the third division of the Spanish Women's Basketball League (the Spanish league has eight divisions - aut.note).
"We can really relax, because we really needed a second player to lead the team, and we believe that Maria was exactly what our team needed. Last year, we had two playmakers Giedrė Gricienė and Dovilė Ponišktienė, but at the end of the last season Dovilė was injured and did not know how the process of her recovery will go and whether she managed to recover until the beginning of this season and Giedre's unfortunately decided to stop her career so far, so we were really in bad situation. But it seems that Dovile's trauma succeeded and we are very happy that we were able to discover Maria. "- team leader Eglė Jucevičiūtė commented about new legionnair.
The new player will not be able to participate in the first match due to medical formalities, but it should play a significant role in the second game of the season.
